Volunteer supporters needed nationwide - be part of our growing family!

You too can help provide our highly skilled Assistance Dogs for people with disabilities by offering help local to you at a Puppy Training Satellite or Support Group. Volunteers urgently needed!

Urgently needed at National Training Centre, West Sussex:

Adopt a Puppy admin volunteer
We are looking for a volunteer to help us with the ongoing administration of our Adopt a Puppy scheme. This includes helping us with the general organisation of the scheme (for example filing, creating labels and photocopying forms) alongside helping us to send out the regular update mailings to all of our supporters and sending out adoption packs to new supporters when they sign up. We would be very grateful to be joined by a volunteer who can help us for two half days a week (mornings or afternoons).
 

Charity database admin volunteer
We urgently need a volunteer to help us with the ongoing maintenance of our Charity database, ideally for two days a week. Initially, we would like help with a project to streamline our database by amending existing records, and in the long term we would be delighted to have someone to help us to check, collate and input data on a regular basis.

Trust & Legacy Administrator – part time (3 days per week) at the Heyshott Training Centre.

To provide administrative support to the Trusts & Legacies Officer in all work to raise funds from Trusts, Foundations and Livery Companies in line with the Charity’s fundraising strategy.

Occupational Therapists - Devon, Hull and Birmingham ( Part time / Occasional Only)

A unique opportunity to help support our growing number of canine partnerships nationwide.

Canine Partners are placing more assistance dog partnerships nationwide and need to build a network of Occupational Therapists to help with home visits to those people with a disability who are applying for a canine partner.


Qualifications required: Dip. COT or BA/BSc OT
Experience of undertaking functional assessments and working with clients and carers in their own homes is essential, with Care Planning, inter-agency and multi-disciplinary work desirable.

You should understand the vital work of assistance dogs in the home environment and have a working knowledge of how physical limitations impact on the lifestyles of people with disabilities.

If you are a self-motivated Occupational Therapist who is flexible and reliable, with the ability to travel within an agreed area; please contact us. Extra training with our clients and dogs is available at the National Training Centre in West Sussex.
