Brighton Man to run Beachy Head Marathon for Canine Partners

 

Thursday 1st October 2009: Canine Partners (Registered Charity No. 803680) today announces that Michael Walker from Brighton will be running the Beachy Head Marathon to raise vital funds for the charity that provides highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities. Taking place on Saturday 24th October, this marathon is widely regarded as one of the toughest marathons as the course covers gates, stiles, hills and steps.

Michael has chosen to raise funds for Canine Partners, due to his parents involvement in the charity and the dramatic difference these dogs can make to the lives of people with disabilities.  His family are Puppy Parents for Canine Partners, which means they look after a puppy whilst it is training.  Michael comments, “I haven’t run properly since I was at school, so this is quite a challenge!  The voluntary work my parents do for Canine Partners has bought them untold happiness and the role these dogs go on to do is amazing.  My training is currently going well and I run three times a week in preparation for this event and also the Brighton Marathon which I have entered!”
