You Are Here : Lodsworth Art Exhibition raises money for Canine Partners

Tuesday 20th October 2009: Canine Partners (Registered Charity No. 803680), a charity specialising in providing highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, has recently accepted a cheque for £900 as a result of an art exhibition at The Hollist Arms in Lodsworth.
Organised for the second year by a small committee of Lodsworth residents comprising of Diane Lupton, Libby Milling, Juliette Bristow, Libby Driscoll and Georgie Miller, the exhibition featured work from fifteen local artists. It ran from 18th July-2nd August upstairs at The Hollist Arms, thanks to George and Juliet Bristow, the owners, without whom the event wouldn’t have been possible.
This year the committee wanted to support a local charity, so chose to donate a percentage of the sales to Canine Partners - resulting in a superb donation of £900, which will go towards buying two new puppies to train as assistance dogs.
Diane comments, “Canine Partners is a great local charity that helps people with disabilities. They have also been very supportive to me, whilst I have been training my pet dog to help assist me with aspects of my rheumatoid arthritis. I was therefore delighted to help organise an event that not only showcased local artistic talent, but also supported a charity close to my heart. Being able to utilise The Hollist Arms took the event up a level and we hope to be able to do it again next year.”
