Lorraine Lotan, Puppy Satellite Trainer at Clapham, specialises in promoting responsible dog ownership, making dog training fun for dogs and owners in obedience and agility. “I have owned rescue German Shepherds and Shepherd crosses & now have an 8 year old Golden Retriever called Molly and a 4 year old German Shepherd called Willow. I have two young children and own a company called Happy Dog Training & Grooming. Classes vary from puppy pre-school, puppy tumble-tots, obedience, agility and clicker training. I worked for Guide Dogs for the Blind for several years, starting out as Kennel Staff, (hard work but I loved it) moving on to be a Guide Dog Trainer which was very rewarding. It is great to be back in the Assistance Dog world and I thoroughly love being involved with Canine Partners, recruiting and managing a team of volunteer Puppy Parents, training them and the puppies, helping to fundraise and promote the charity. I have been asked what motivates me; Chocolate!! (Oh and the odd glass of wine!), seeing how the Canine Partner dogs change the lives of people with disabilities, helping people understand and build a better relationship with their dogs. Every day is different; an ability to be flexible, work under pressure, think on your feet and have a sense of humour is a must.“
