Fancy following in the footsteps of Lorraine Kelly, Dermot O’Leary and Craig David trekking through the African desert for Comic Relief?  Then we have the challenge for you!  Our Rift Valley Masai Trek has wild, remote African scenery, amazing wildlife and the fascinating culture of the Masai!   Trip Grade: Moderate Dates:  12 July - 22 July 2012; 4 Oct - 14 Oct 2012 Open to families!   This challenging trek has it all: wild, remote African scenery, amazing wildlife and the fascinating culture of the Masai!   You will trek through the Crater Highland and Rift Valley landscapes of Tanzania, witnessing the traditional Masai way of life as the tribesmen tend their cattle in this spectacular region, most of which is a conservation area.  The scenery is magnificent, with rolling green grasslands and acacia forests surrounded by jagged volcanic peaks.  You will trek to the summit of Empakaai Crater and explore its crater lake, home to many birds.  A safari in Lake Manyara National Park celebrates your achievement, where you can see wildlife such as lion, zebra, giraffe and elephant.   Cost:  Registration Fee  £349 (2011); £399 (2012) Minimum fundraising target: £3500 Cost of trip: £1400 (which can be part of £3500 target, or in addition, whichever suits) Download the itinerary and  further information on joining this once in a lifetime challenge here: For fundraising help: contact Jill Green on 01730 716014 or email jillg@caninepartners.org.uk.
