48 Santa run for fun in Gloucester
The morning was damp but soon the sun won the day and runners set off to glorious views over Bathurst Estate to tackle the 5km run. Competitors started arriving back after just 21 minutes with Shona Crombie-Hicks from Bourton on the Water (21.07) in first place, Ben Bathurst (21.56) from Cirencester in second and Melissa Nichols from Bishops Cleeve (23.20) in third.
All runners were supported by a team of onlookers, including Dowager Lady Bathurst who’s grandson came second. Once the race was over everyone enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies, whilst the Gloucester puppy training satellite demonstrated what skills their pups are currently learning.
Head of regional fundraising Jill Green comments, “We had a fabulous morning and everyone was in great Christmas spirits. We hope this event will have raised over £2000, which is fantastic. We thank Dowager Lady Bathurst for her generosity in letting Canine Partners hold their first ever Santa Fun Run on the estate.
