Michelle comments, “I really enjoyed taking part in this race and felt comfortable over the distance. I am very aware how much physical and emotional support a canine partner can bring to someone with disabilities, which is why I chose to support the Charity. I encourage anyone who wishes to take on a challenge, has some time to volunteer or has some great fundraising ideas to do the same.”
Stephanie Flower from Southend has hereditary spastic paraparesis. “Thanks to my canine partner Elmo I can lead a pretty independent life, I could not manage without him. The tasks Elmo helps me with are endless, but include emptying the washing into the basket, letting the cat out, paying at the supermarket checkout and pressing pedestrian crossing buttons.”
