You Are Here : Canine Partners in Staffordshire

An information evening taking place on Wednesday 22nd September in Burton Upon Trent. The event aims to inform the local community about the work of Canine Partners, now it has established a small Puppy Training Satellite in the area.
This free of charge event takes place at Hill Farm, Wychnor, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, DE13 8BY at 6.30pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a demonstration of a canine partner in action carrying out tasks such as picking up dropped items, helping to remove clothing and much more. There will also be the chance to meet local residents and their canine partners, as well as finding out how the local community can help support the work of Canine Partners.
Staffordshire Puppy Trainer Julia Hurley comments, “We are already establishing a presence in Staffordshire and have recently held a fundraising drinks evening, as well as attending the Chatsworth Show. However, we need to spread the word throughout the county in order to recruit volunteers and puppy parents. This Information Session is an ideal way for people to see for themselves the work we do and the amazing abilities of these dogs.”
Locally based puppy parents are vital to the work of Canine Partners. Willing dog lovers will offer a home to puppies, whilst they learn the skills they need to become a canine partner at the recently opened Puppy Training Satellite in Burton Upon Trent at weekly classes. Puppies stay with puppy parents from approximately 8 weeks old until they are considered ready to be returned to the Charity headquarters for assessment or advanced training, which can be between 6-18 months.
