Join Rift Valley Masai Trek to raise funds for Canine Partners

If you would like to follow in the footsteps of Lorraine Kelly, Dermot O’Leary, Olly Murs and Craig David plus others with their Comic Relief Desert Trek then Canine Partners, who provides specially trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, has the ideal challenge for you!

Join the Rift Valley Masai Trek through the landscapes of Tanzania.  Along the way you will witness the traditional Masai way of life as the tribesmen tend their cattle in this spectacular region, most of which is a conservation area.  The scenery is magnificent, with rolling green grasslands and acacia forests surrounded by jagged volcanic peaks.  You will trek to the summit of Empakaai Crater and explore its crater lake, home to many birds.  A safari in Lake Manyara National Park celebrates your achievement, where you will see wildlife such as lions, zebra, giraffes and elephants.

Open to families, the trek is moderate and lasts for 11 days.  Dates this trek is available are 14-24 July 2011, 6 Oct-16 Oct 2011, 12-22 July 2012 and 4-14 Oct 2012.  There is a registration fee of £349 in 2011 and £399 in 2012.  The cost of the trip is £1400, which can be included in the minimum fundraising target of £3500.
