Local residents raise £560 for Canine Partners in Hull

The Canine Partners team from Hull spent the day at St Stephen’s shopping centre on 26 May.  Canine Partners demo dog Oona performed demonstrations throughout the day showing visitors her skills including emptying a washing machine, giving pegs to a handler whilst hanging washing out, removing the handler’s outer garments, passing the phone in emergency response and more.

Puppy trainer Louise Norman comments, “We had a fantastic day at the shopping centre and were overwhelmed by the interest and support we received from local residents about the work of Canine Partners.  It was a great opportunity to show people how a canine partner can change the life of a person with disabilities.  We are looking forward to returning in November for another collection day.”
Canine Partners is always looking for volunteers and fundraisers from the local community.  The team is particularly keen to hear from people interested in becoming a puppy parent and offering a puppy a loving home environment whilst in training.  For further information please contact Louise Norman on 01482 854422.
