Puppy Geoffrey thanks Lakeside Shopping Centre

Geoffrey is a 3-month old Labrador cross golden retriever who currently lives in Chelmsford with his puppy parent Christine Smiley.  As a puppy parent, it is Christine’s responsibility to offer Geoffrey a loving home and reinforce his training methods whilst he is in the area, being trained by the Essex puppy training satellite at Writtle College.

Christine says, “I retired in 2010 and we also lost our pet dog, so I actively wanted to support a charity - especially one involved in training dogs to help people with disabilities.  Geoffrey is my second puppy and he is fabulous – so loving and eager to learn!  I have had dogs since I was nine years old and am aware of the joy they bring to people’s lives, especially mine and that of my 13-year old grandson.  I am looking forward to helping Geoffrey learn the commands he is taught at our weekly training classes, as well as socialising him into the local community.  Being a puppy parent is such a rewarding role and I encourage other people to get involved.”

Lindsay Hurrell – Essex Community Fundraiser says, “We are extremely grateful to Lakeside Shopping Centre for raising this fantastic amount of money, which has gone towards the purchase of Geoffrey - as well as allowing us to hold an annual collection day.  We need all the support we can get from the Essex community to help us to fundraise and train more puppies in the county to go on and change the lives of people with disabilities. Thank you also for the support of the shoppers on Lakeside for supporting our collection day.”
